Ice Bath Protocol - you need to book in advance so we can get the ice delivered.

• Close the valve on the exit pipe to keep the water in the bath 

• Run the hose water for 10 mins or approximately 50-60% full 

• Add 6 x bags (120kg) of ice in to water 10 mins before first submersion 

• ⁠Floating thermometer should read ideally 4-8c (and ideally less  than 12c) 

• ⁠Step in, slowly holding on to the side of the bath to ensure nobody slips 

• Taking continual deep breathes, fully submerge the body in ice water (1-2 people) up to neck but not the head 

• After 30 seconds the mind will calm and the heart rate too so try normal breathing (first 30 seconds is the hardest bit) 

• The Ideal time (once submerged) is a minimum of 2 minutes for the maximum physical benefit and no longer than 6 minutes  

• Exit carefully and warm up with sun or hot shower.
